What you get

Everything openpilot ships โ€” plus Navigation and V2I integrated into the driving stack.

Directions on the device โ€” not your phone

Set a destination on your comma device. Maps, routing, and driving control share the same brain.

  • OpenStreetMap โ€” works offline
  • Speed limits & curves feed the planner
  • Lane guidance before exits & merges
  • Turn arrows + ETA on the OLED

Your car hears the road before it sees it

Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) receives broadcasts from connected traffic signals, work zones, and roadside units.

  • SPaT โ€” know when lights change
  • Work zone & lane closure alerts
  • Dynamic speed advisories
  • Augments vision โ€” never replaces it

LaneSyncPilot App

The companion app syncs routes, logs, and dashcam footage from your comma device โ€” free video downloads, end-to-end encryption, and optional cloud saves when you want to keep a drive.

  • Save drives for free โ€” Tap Save to keep a route & clips in your library forever
  • 7-day window โ€” Unsaved videos are removed from our servers after 7 days
  • Video downloads โ€” Front & driver cam clips on your phone anytime before expiry
  • End-to-end encryption โ€” Keys stay on your devices, not our servers
  • Share securely โ€” Send a drive link only the recipient can open
7-day retention on unsaved videos New drives upload automatically. If you don't tap Save within 7 days, the video is permanently deleted from our servers. Saved drives and downloads on your phone are yours to keep.

End-to-end encrypted by design Your drives are encrypted before they leave your device. We can't read them โ€” and neither can anyone else.

FAQ

What is LaneSyncPilot?

A community fork of openpilot that adds built-in Navigation and V2I. Same hardware, same cars, two extra features integrated into the drive stack.

Do I need extra hardware?

No. Navigation uses GPS and on-device storage. V2I uses the built-in LTE modem. Any comma 3X or comma four with a standard harness works.

What is V2I?

Vehicle-to-Infrastructure. Your car receives data from connected traffic lights, work zones, and roadside units โ€” so it knows what's ahead before cameras see it. It augments openpilot's vision, never replaces it.

Is it safe?

Level 2 driver assistance โ€” you must always pay attention and be ready to take over. Open source code means anyone can audit it.

Does it cost anything?

Free. No subscription, no account, no fees. MIT licensed.

Will you keep merging openpilot updates?

Yes. We track upstream releases for car support, safety fixes, and core ADAS improvements.

What is the LaneSyncPilot app?

A free companion app for iOS and Android. Drives sync to the cloud so you can download dashcam videos and optionally tap Save to keep them. Everything is end-to-end encrypted. No paid tier required.

What happens if I don't save a drive?

Every drive uploads temporarily so you can review and download clips. If you don't tap Save within 7 days, the video and associated cloud data are permanently deleted from our servers. Saved drives stay in your library at no cost. Downloading to your phone before the 7-day window keeps a local copy even after server deletion.

What does end-to-end encryption mean?

Your drives are encrypted on your device before upload. Only you (and people you explicitly share with) hold the keys. LaneSyncPilot servers store encrypted blobs โ€” we cannot decrypt or view your routes or videos.
